Emergency Blocked Drain Plumber — Forster and the NSW North Coast

Sewer in the house? Don't wait.

A sewer drain backing up into your home isn't just unpleasant — it's a health risk and the damage compounds by the hour. The same is true of a stormwater drain failing in heavy rain, or a major water leak that's flooding through the property. These are the jobs we drop everything for.

AVP Plumbing provides emergency blocked drain response across our primary service area.

Call direct and we'll let you know how fast we can be there.

Call us immediately if you're seeing

  • Sewage or grey water coming up through floor drains, the toilet, or the shower

  • A toilet that won't flush and water rising rather than draining

  • Multiple drains in the house blocked at once (sign of a main sewer issue)

  • Stormwater overflowing in heavy rain and threatening to enter the building

  • Strong sewer gas smell that won't clear

  • Outdoor sewer access point overflowing

What happens in an emergency?

What we do on an emergency call-out

First, we stop the immediate problem — clearing the blockage so the drain can flow and the damage stops. Then, once the urgent risk is contained, we run a CCTV inspection to confirm what caused the blockage and recommend the right permanent fix so it doesn't happen again. We don't try to up-sell a major repair at the worst moment of your day — that conversation happens once the urgent work is done and you can think clearly.

How to reduce damage while you wait

If you have a sewer backup, stop using all water in the house — every flush, every tap, every shower adds to the volume coming back up. If you have a water leak, shut the property's water at the main meter (usually at the front boundary or kerb). For stormwater issues, move valuables off the ground if water is entering the building.

Emergency call-out pricing

Emergency response carries an additional after-hours fee on top of standard service charges. We're upfront about this on the call — you'll know what the call-out costs before we leave the depot. Once on-site, normal written-quote process applies before any major repair work.
